Amazon SEO in 2026: How Amazon Ranks a Listing and What to Fix First
Three things are true about your listings at the same time. The algorithm almost everyone names does not exist under that name in any Amazon document, the title limit most guides quote was replaced on July 27, 2026, and a share of your catalog may not be competing at all because Amazon never put it in the search index. Contradiction is not confusion. Amazon does rank listings, it does so on inputs you control, and the reason so much optimization spend produces nothing is that sellers buy the fix before they diagnose the problem. So which of the three failures is yours: not indexed, indexed and ineligible, or indexed, eligible and buried? Answer that wrong and the next quarter of work goes into the wrong field. The pages that should tell you the difference are still printing a 200 character title rule.
Martin J.SEOOct 7, 2026Smartsheet Pricing in 2026: What Your Team Actually Pays (and Where It Jumps)
Smartsheet's per-seat rate has not moved in three years. Pro is still $9 and Business is still $19 per Member per month on annual billing, and a page dated December 2023 prints the same Business pair you will find on the vendor's site today. Meanwhile the thread sitting at position five of this search result is a list of customers describing renewals that doubled, and a procurement consultancy puts the increases at 30% to 50%. Both of those things are true at once, because the two numbers are measuring different things. One counts the rate on the card. The other counts the people the vendor decides to charge that rate to. So which of them decides your bill this year: the price you agreed to, or the seat count somebody else is assembling on your behalf? You will probably only find out when the quote arrives.

$10.99 a seat is the headline on Asana's pricing page, on a ladder that sells seats only in blocks. Two seats is the minimum, five is the last size you add one at a time, and past that your headcount stops counting. Which count are you billed on?
Martin J.Oct 7, 2026Content Repurposing Tools: How One Asset Becomes a Week of Channels
You know the shape of the problem already. One long piece did well, and everything after it got made from scratch. The fourth channel variant is due on Friday, and the honest answer is that you have been buying subscriptions instead of fixing an order of operations. The pages ranking above this one will hand you a list of ten tools and rank their own product first. So here is a question worth sitting with: if your best asset from last quarter is still sitting in one format on one channel, whose job was it to move it? Mine, for three years, and I did not do it either. The tools are not what is stopping you, and the next thing you buy probably will not be either.

It is a Tuesday in the second week of the quarter and your content review is ninety minutes old. Forty-one published pages sit open in tabs, a spreadsheet somebody built in 2024 is doing the tracking, and nobody in the room has asked the only question that matters. Which of these should not exist any more? You have a refresh list you never finish and a publishing calendar that keeps adding to it. Your team can produce four drafts a week now, which means the library grows faster than any review cadence you own. You know exactly how many pages you published this year. Do you know how many of them still deserve to be there? Nobody answers that one, the meeting moves on to next quarter's topics, and the pile gets one quarter bigger.
Martin J.ContentOct 6, 2026Marketing Dashboard in 2026: The Metrics That Earn a Slot, and the Ones to Delete
Your dashboard did not get worse because something was missing. It got worse one tile at a time, each one added for a good reason, and now you scroll past the four tiles that were supposed to tell you where to look. You already know which of them you would defend in a meeting, and you have never written down why the rest are still there. So name the four: sessions added together, follower counts, impressions with no position, and engagement rates whose denominator changes with the platform. Each one looks useful. Each one misleads you the moment it sits beside a number it cannot be compared with. Which of those would you delete this afternoon if the board still had to work tomorrow?
Martin J.ReportingOct 6, 2026White Label SEO Reports: What Your Client Reads and What the Tooling Costs Per Client
It is the first Tuesday of the month, and somewhere in your agency someone is pulling the same five screenshots into the same template for the eleventh time. The client will open it on their phone, between meetings, and give it ninety seconds. What they decide in those ninety seconds is whether you keep the account. Here is the part nobody says out loud: your reporting platform is almost never the line that costs you money. The hours you spend assembling the report are, and the platform is the cheapest item in the whole equation. Which raises the question you should be able to answer before your next renewal conversation: what does this report actually cost you per client, all in?
Martin J.Agencies & careersOct 6, 2026SEO Client Reporting: What to Send, How Often, and What Clients Actually Read
You send a client report every month, and nobody has ever told you it was the reason the contract renewed. That silence runs in both directions. Your client does not read it the way you read it: they scan the first screen, find a number that makes them feel safe, and close the tab before the call. Retainer agencies lose 18% of clients a year against 42% for project-based work, and the ranked reasons clients give for leaving put weak strategic guidance first at 68% and poor communication second at 57% (Focus Digital 2026; gigradar.io citing Focus Digital and Practiq 2026). Price sits sixth at 37%. So when the report left your outbox last month, what did the person reading it actually understand?
